You cannot discuss family court/divorce/judicial reform without talking politics.  Who appoints the judges?  Politicians.  Who makes the laws? Politicians.

In the early 1990s, I and dozens of of others testified against Democrat U.S. Senator Bradley’s proposed anti-retroactive child support law, saying it would damage many payor parents.  The Democrat contingent of Congress was the prime mover of this.  As we know, Democrats want bigger and bigger government intruding into our lives, and what better way than to break up the family in order to take the strength of the family, the father, out of the way, to impose centralized dictatorial government in the United States.  Look what’s happened in the black community.  Democrats have destroyed the nuclear family by offering a few pieces of silver (e.g., welfare, food stamps, Section 8 housing, etc.) to the single-head of the family by compelling them to keep the father out of the picture.  Before the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the failed “War on Poverty” in 1965 (51 years ago and still fighting the failed “War on Poverty”) which were signed into law by Democrat President Lyndon B. Johnson (LBJ) with Democrat Congresses, black families were headed by fathers, were hard-working families, and very religious.  Today, you have a severe drug abuse problem, gang violence problem, and gun violence problem in black communities.  Why?  Because there are no fathers.

The Federal Government under the Democrats have destroyed every city they’ve governed.  See, Detroit (50 years of failure), Camden, NJ (50 years of failure), Chicago (50 years of failure), etc.  Why?  Because they offered welfare, foodstamps, and all forms of entitlements to keep fathers  out of the black, and now hispanic, families.  They threatened the mother with loss of entitlement benefits if the father was around.  Government became the de facto husband and father in the black family and black community.  And, what happens?  Everything Government touches turns to shit or failure.

With passage of the Divorce Reform Act in 1976, because lawyers were starving and needed a new source of income, we got Federal child support laws in 1976, 1980, 1984, 1988 and then the big one under Democrat Bill Clinton (with large support from his wife, Hillary Clinton, who had tremendous influence in the government during Bill’s Presidency), the 1996 Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Act (PRWORA) that substantially enhanced child support enforcement (which brought DL and Passport suspension, asset seizure, garnishments, anti-retroactive statutes, etc.) dictates to the states how to break up ALL families in order to get Federal funding, e.g., TANF, Title IV-D, etc.  Then we had the federal domestic violence laws, Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) of 1994–which is discriminatory on its face as it applies only to “women” (codified in part at 42 U.S.C. sections 13701 through 14040), that further stripped the family down.  VAWA became so bad that the Republicans in Congress voted against reauthorization of the law in 2012-2013.  The Act’s 2012 renewal was opposed by conservative Republicans, who objected to extending the Act’s protections to same-sex couples and to provisions allowing battered illegal individuals to claim temporary visas, also known as U visas. The U visa is restricted to 10,000 applicants annually whereas the number of applicants far exceeds these 10,000 for each fiscal year. In order to be considered for the U visa, one of the requirements for illegal immigrant women is that they need to cooperate in the detainment of the abuser.  The concern was the use of false allegations by illegal immigrants in order to stay in the U.S.  However, it was passed with some watered down sections.

Since then the middle class and white families have been ripped asunder by the Divorce laws, Child Support Enforcement laws and VAWA laws.  It’s all because Politicians (most being lawyers) want to maintain the status quo of the family courts being the biggest money-maker of the judiciary (estimates range from $50-$200 BILLION annually), as well as defrauding the taxpayers by getting the Federal funding for Child Support Enforcement, VAWA, and CAPTA (Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act)  in order to bolster and balance their ever-increasing state budgets and excessive state spending.

Democrat Politicians are all for breaking up the family because it not only is lucrative, it gives Democrats, who are big government control advocates, the ability to control the lives of families, women and children.  If husbands/fathers, who are usually oppositional to authority and big government and usually have the wherewithal intellectually and financially to fight back, are removed from the equation of the family and coerced under threat of a gun to give up their assets, monies and livelihoods through draconian, tyrannical Government family law policies, then the threat to Government is eradicated.

That is why everyone MUST TARGET their local legislators (ALL POLITICS IS LOCAL) and ask them in townhall meetings what are they doing to fix the family courts’ destruction of families through corruption, fraud, and extortion at the point of a gun, and what are they doing to investigate the family court judiciary.  That is why everyone MUST TARGET sheriffs who seek re-election because they are the LEOs that are arresting people in divorce related matters for owing a civil support debt, or domestic violence allegation (not charge or conviction).  Sheriffs are elected by the people/voters/taxpayers.  If they are beholden to the Government, e.g., judges, courts, lawyers, then sheriffs must be removed and replaced every election and the voters need to express why.

So, as you can see, you cannot discuss family court without talking politics and politicians.  And, it has been the Democrats (actually Socialists) who have done the most damage to families since 1965 than Republicans ever could.  Let’s not forget that Democrats opposed the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Democrats used the KKK in the South as their private army to keep blacks down since the end of the Civil War.  Remember that West Virginia U.S. Senator Robert Byrd was a Grand Kleagle of the KKK.  But, the Democrat-Socialist Party gave him a pass on that for over 50 years of service in the U.S. Senate for Democrat big government, anti-family causes.

I’m not biased as to political parties.  I’m stating the facts as they are.  Read your history if you don’t believe me.  I lived through the crap of the family law “reform” in the 80s and 90s and fought it hard.  We made waves, stopped a lot of shit legislation, or at least watered it down.
