Other Important Issues:

My Platform In More Details:

Protection and Restoration of the Family:

Families are the corner stones of our nation. As a family physician, I hear every single day the issues American families are facing, and I am better prepared than any other candidate in my district to provide real solutions to the American family.  Government that were probably initially instituted with good intentions have been misused an are causing great harm to the American family.  Please see: DCF Reform and Court Reform.

Domestic Violence:

It is a crime, and should be dealt with as such in a crime court where the penalties and the legal burdens match these horrible crimes, and not in family courts where these crimes are not usually properly handled.

Campaign finance reform:

It is much needed to keep America the beacon of freedom and democracy it once was.  As www.Represent.Us is exposing and Princeton University conclusively showed, what Americans believe a law should be has virtually zero influence in the law that was actually passed, but if especially interest group supported a law, it would most likely passes. I will work towards campaign finance reform in all three branches of government, the Judicial, the Legislative and Executive branches.

Tolls and traffic sign cameras:

Constitute a “sneaky” way to tax the Florida citizen. If in office, I will work towards Constitutional amendments that will require local voters to decide any toll increases and any traffic sign cameras.

Taxes:

There is absolutely no question that the burdensome United States Tax Code needs to be reformed.  I will work to cut taxes for everyone — rich and poor in our state.

Spending and Debt:

A top concern is our national debt.  We are currently spending roughly $7 million per minute and this reckless habit has gone on for way too long.  We currently face a debt of about $20 trillion. This is unsustainable. The fiscal crisis that faces our nation must be taken seriously and immediately addressed.  I will work to balance our budget and only spend what comes in.  We must cut spending in all areas, particularly areas that are better run by local governments.

Term Limits:

We have all seen the consequence of long-term incumbencies. Career Judges and other public servants seem to care more about their career than what is best for their country. We have seen Judges and other career politician grow more and more out-of-touch with each successive term.

It is time to put an end to the profession of “career Judges” and impose limits on how many times a Judge is allowed to seek re-election. As a Senator, I introduced legislation that would limit the amount of time a Judge may serve.  I will continue to support term limits in all three branches of government in hopes of ensuring that your elected officials act in direct representation of you and your needs.

Health Care:

Healthcare cost continues to sky rocket, and much of this cost comes from preventable diseases. About 80% of all patients we see in hospitals today come due to preventable diseases; as your Senator, and Family physician, I will ensure that real free-market and preventive care principles are applied to the American health care system so that it is responsive to patients, families, and doctors, rather than government bureaucracy, and that ALL patients have equal opportunity to live longer, healthier and more enjoyable lives, which are the corner stones to helping them reach their full potentials in life.

Energy:

Washington’s bureaucratic regulations, corporate subsidies, and excessive taxation have made it unnecessarily difficult for energy developers to take advantage of new and innovative forms of cheap and clean energy.  As a Cum Laude graduate in Electrical Engineering from Florida International University, I am most qualified of all candidates to make energy policy recommendations and decisions in our state.

Immigration:

Immigration has become a national security issue that we must address very seriously.  I do not support amnesty per say, but rather a legal immigration process. I was forced to migrate to this country because of communism in my native country, Nicaragua, and was forced to cross the Mexican border illegally.  It was that or being forced to fight and kill my own people for an ideology that I did not embrace.  I recognize that the country has been enriched by those who seek the American Dream, such as myself, and desire for a better life; however, millions of illegal immigrants are crossing our border without our knowledge which threatens our national security.

Regulation:

We must counteract excessively burdensome government regulations. I will work to find a balance between environmental, safety and health protection, without compromising the ability of family businesses to flourish.

Criminal Justice Reforms:

I have found that one of the biggest impediments to finding a job is a criminal record. Upon examining our Florida’s criminal justice system, I found that the system is in desperate need of reform.

Civil and Religious Liberties:

Our country was founded on principles that meant to expand personal liberties and limit the role of government. The usurpation of power by our current Governmental bureaucracies would make our Founding Fathers rollover in their graves. I believe we must return to these principles.  My own experience of losing the custody of my children for praying for them the Armor of God of Ephesian 6 is a perfect example of what is currently wrong with these bureaucracies and our court system.  I will work tireless to ensure that no other family in Florida has to endure what my family has endured: https://www.votefamily.us/why-am-i-running-for-office/

Education:

I fully support homeschooling, charter schools, and public schools as alternatives to a great education for our children.  I believe that education is the great equalizer, but too often our one-size-fits-all system leaves most kids behind. The Federal Government should not dictate what happens in our local classrooms. I believe we must abolish Common Core and give control back to the states, localities and parents.

Sanctity of Life, & protection of our constitution:

I strongly believe in the sanctity of life. I believe that life begins at conception and that abortion takes the life of an innocent human being. Under the 14th Amendment, it is the government’s duty to protect life as defined in our Constitution.  Second Amendment is an integral part of our Constitution and Bill of Rights. I vow to uphold our entire Bill of Rights, but specifically our right to bear arms.

Healthcare (I agree with Dr. Carson’s position on this topic):

“Patients and Their Doctors Have Lost Control. The best health care decisions are made between patient and doctor. As decision-making moves further away from patients and providers, the medical outcomes become less effective.

Obamacare has upended the patient-doctor relationship, restricting our health care options and access to doctors and specialists. As a result, patients face exorbitant increases in premiums, deductibles and co-pays, less access to the doctors they trust and fewer health care plans to choose from.

Spiraling Costs, Fewer Doctors and Choices. Without immediate change Americans will face:
Fewer choices — Already, 5 million Americans have been kicked off the private health care plans they depended on, with 21 percent fewer health plan options than before Obamacare.

Fewer doctors — Even now, specialists essential to diagnosing and treating stroke (America’s 5th leading killer) are in severe shortage under the Obamacare insurance plans.

Broken promises under Medicare & Medicaid — Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries face a two-tiered health care system, as many doctors can no longer afford to participate; meanwhile, both programs are unsustainable.

I will work to Reform Obamacare and Put “We the People” in Charge

Health Empowerment Accounts (cuentas de potenciación de la salud) to put patients in charge, with more choices at lower cost:

First-dollar coverage for out-of-pocket expenses and premiums to buy the insurance of your choice. Your Money. Your Account belongs to you, whether you change jobs or cross state lines.Transferable between family members, because each of us has different medical needs.

Save Medicare and Medicaid by putting beneficiaries in control:

Give Medicare beneficiaries a fixed contribution to buy the health insurance they actually want and need. Give Medicare and Medicaid enrollees HEAs to cover first-dollar expenses and insurance premiums for coverage they get to choose

Modernize Medicare to keep pace with medical advances by gradually increasing the eligibility age (by 2 months each year) until it reaches age 70.

Treat Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries like the rest of us. Give Medicaid beneficiaries the same insurance coverage, doctors and choices that other Americans enjoy, with HEAs to provide first-dollar coverage, supplemented by a major medical insurance plan of the patient’s choice.  Save Medicaid by providing fixed-dollar support to the states, which must use the funds for premium payments and HEAs for beneficiaries — not wasteful state bureaucracies.”
